Cấu trúc make a decision

Make a decision là một cụm động từ mang nghĩa đưa ra một quyết định sau một khoảng thời gian đắn đo, suy nghĩ kỹ lưỡng.

Ví dụ: Did you find it easy to make the decision to study in New Zealand? (cái quyết định đi du học ở New Zealand của bạn có dễ dàng khi được đưa ra không?)

Make a decision đi với giới từ “on” mang nghĩa đưa ra quyết định về một vấn đề nào đó

Các cụm từ thường thấy về quyết định

1. Reach a decision: dùng để chỉ việc đạt đến/chạm đến một quyết định sau một khoảng thời gian cân đo, đong đếm kỹ lưỡng.

Ví dụ: The government has finally reached a decision on social distancing policy.

(Chính phủ cuối cùng cũng đi đến 1 quyết định lên chính sách giãn cách xã hội.)

1. Decision making: là một danh từ có xuất phát từ cụm make a decision, dùng để chỉ một việc tạo ra quyết định.

Ví dụ: Decision making can be a great skill to learn.

(Kỹ năng quyết định có thể là 1 kỹ năng tuyệt vời nên học.)

1. Make time: to make certain you have some time when you are not busy in order to do something you think you should do. (có thời gian rảnh rỗi để làm gì).

Ví dụ: Our hectic modern lifestyle does not always allow us to make time for the important things in life, such as friends and family.

(Lối sống hiện đại bận rộn của chúng ta luôn không cho phép ta dành thời gian rảnh cho những thứ quan trọng trong cuộc đời, chẳng hạn như bạn bè và gia đình).

1. Make a living: to earn enough money to buy the things you need (kiếm sống/ kiếm miếng ăn)

Ví dụ: Many people are struggling to make a living and cannot even afford basic health care.

Nhiều người đấu tranh để kiếm bữa cơm qua ngày và thậm chí họ không thể chi trả cho những chi phí chăm sóc sức khỏe cơ bản.

1. Make a/the difference: to improve a situation (cải thiện một tình huống tồi tệ).

Ví dụ: After food which contained these chemicals was removed from the children’s diet, it made all the difference to their behavior.

(sau khi loại bỏ những thức ăn mà chứa những hóa chất này ra khỏi chế độ ăn của bọn trẻ, thì cách cư xử của chúng đã được cải thiện đáng kể).

1. Make progress: to achieve something (tiến bộ/ đạt được một điều gì đó).

Ví dụ: “ I feel that we’re making slow progress with this project.”

(tôi cảm thấy chúng ta phát triển rất chậm trong dự án này)

1. Make a/ the decision: to give a choice of things, especially after thinking carefully about several possibilities (đưa ra một quyết định, đặc biệt sau khi đã suy nghĩ kĩ về những khả năng có thể xảy ra).

Ví dụ: “ Did you find it easy to make the decision to study in New Zealand?”

(cái quyết định đi du học ở New Zealand của bạn có dễ dàng khi được đưa ra không?)

1. Make a suggestion: to give your opinion about something (đưa ra ý kiến/ đề nghị của bạn về việc nào đó).

Ví dụ: “I’d like to make a suggestion. Perhaps we could start the presentation with some visual material?”

(“tôi muốn đưa ra đề nghị thế này. Chúng ta có thể bắt đầu buổi thuyết trình với một số tài liệu bắt mắt được không?”)

1. Make use of sth: to use something that is available (tận dụng cái gì đó).

Ví dụ: “ Please make use of the Internet for your research but make sure you include the website address in your bibliography.”

(làm ơn hãy tận dụng mạng cho việc tìm kiếm nhưng chắc chắn rằng nhớ bao gồm tìm kiếm trên những địa chỉ trong thư mục của bạn).

1. Make a mistake: to do something badly (làm sai điều gì đó).

Ví dụ: Kirk discovered that he had made a couple of mistakes when entering the data.

(Kirk phát hiện ra anh ta đã phạm sai lầm đến hai lần khi nhập dữ liệu).

1. make a (quick) adjustment: become more familiar with a new situation (trở nên thân thuộc với một tình huống mới).
